How to deliver files for Lacquer or DMM cutting

Misjah van der Heiden

This is to prevent confusion, mistakes and/or delays.

First of all, please make sure the audio is properly mastered for “vinyl”. This means preferably 24bit files with no clipping (peaks not reaching 0dBFS) or heavy limiting. Excessive high frequencies should be controlled as well as out of phase low frequencies. Triple check the final audio for dropouts, distortion, etc. We cut what we receive!

Audio files should be clearly named (side A, side B).

If audio delivered as 1 consolidated file per side and you require track markers. You MUST include a cue sheet with marker times starting from 00:00 for each side (not just track lengths). No cue sheet means it will be cut without track markers!.

If audio is delivered as individual tracks make sure file names are A1/A2/B1/B2 etc or use separate maps for A/B side and name files 1/2/3 etc Preferably remove all non-English letters/symbols.

Include a pdf with the Catalogue Number, which format 7/10/12” and the desired RPM.

Once you have all this information correct and complete zip each project into 1 file.

Bigger clients can use our FTP or use the upload thru our website. Contact us for options. For one-off orders just use wetransfer etc. Make sure no account/login is required for download!
